What do I need to get a home insurance quote?
Getting a quote for your home insurance is really simple, but if you have things to hand at the time of getting a quote it will speed up the process.
Should the worst happen, home insurance offers you peace of mind that your property and belongings are protected. Getting a quote for home insurance is easy, and it can take less than two minutes to get a quote online.
To make the process of getting a quote quicker, it’s advisable to have a few things at hand such as your Eircode. Eircode is a seven character alpha-numeric code assigned to each residential and business address in Ireland (for example A65 F4E2). Click here to find your Eircode.
Before getting a quote you need to know the rebuild value of your property, to ensure you have the right level of protection for your home. The Society of Chartered Surveyors provide a rebuild calculator to give you an indication of the rebuilding cost of your house.
You also need to know how much contents cover you need, to make sure you have the right level of protection for your belongings.
You should also know how many years’ claims free you have. Did you know you can get additional savings on your premium if you have no claims? The amount of years’ claims free you have will be on your insurance documents from your current insurer.
It’s advisable to decide before getting a quote if additional cover is required for personal possessions. You can add additional cover for your personal possessions, such as laptops, tablets, mobile phones or sports equipment under ‘Specified Personal Possessions’ when getting a quote.
