Competition Terms & Conditions

  • These terms and conditions govern your participation in the e-Competition (“Competition”). The Competition is being organised by Zurich Insurance Europe AG, Ireland Branch a stock corporation incorporated with limited liability in Germany (Registration no. 133359) with its registered office at Platz der Einheit 2, 60327 Frankfurt, Germany and which has a branch registered in the Republic of Ireland (Registration no. 910127) at Zurich House, Frascati Road, Blackrock, Co. Dublin, A94 X9Y3, Ireland (“ZIE Ireland Branch”).
  • The Competition begins on 5th February 2025. The closing date for entries is 5pm on 30th April 2025. To enter the Competition, entrants must complete the  Farm-FormPage  entry form, answer the questions contained within it and submit the completed entry form. Entrants are deemed to have accepted these following terms and conditions by participating in the Competition.
  • The Competition is open only to residents of the Republic of Ireland. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to participate. Entrants must own (or rent) and actively work on a farm in the Republic of Ireland (or have an immediate family member that meets the eligibility criteria).  The following persons are not eligible to participate: employees of ZIE Ireland Branch or employees of entities forming part of the Zurich Insurance Group; employees of the Irish Farmers Journal (or any associated company); immediate family members or agents of such employees; and anyone connected with the Competition.
  • Only one entry per farm address (farm address to be disclosed on the entry form). Entries must be original. No purchase is necessary. Winners will be selected on merit by a panel of three judges. Judges will be employed by ZIE Ireland Branch and the Irish Farmers Journal, respectively (the “Judging Panel”). The decision of the Judging Panel is final and binding. Illegible entries, or entries which are not submitted in accordance with these terms and conditions, will be ineligible.
  • The prize consists of €10,000 and will be awarded to the winning farmer to invest in sustainable improvements on the farm referenced in the entry form. The winner will be judged between the dates of 1st May 2025 and 30th June 2025. The winner will be notified by telephone within 7 working days from 30th June 2025 and may be required to validate their age. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by the decisions of the Judging Panel.
  • If the winner does not respond within 14 days, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. ZIE Ireland Branch cannot accept responsibility for the acts or omissions of third parties. The winner will receive their prize within 28 days of the date the winner is notified. ZIE Ireland Branch shall have no liability to the winner in the event that the winner is unable to take up the prize.
  • ZIE Ireland Branch reserves the right to select an alternative winner should the winner not be in a position to take up the prize. ZIE Ireland Branch reserves the right to withdraw, cancel, suspend or amend this Competition or the terms and conditions of the Competition, with no liability to any entrants, prize winner, or any third party. To the fullest extent permissible by law, ZIE Ireland Branch shall not be liable to any entrant or prize winner for any loss or damage howsoever caused, whether direct, indirect or consequential (whether in contract, tort or statutory duty or otherwise) arising out of or in connection with the Competition and/or prize or the taking of the prize.

Data protection:

By participating in the Competition, you consent to the processing of the personal data which you provide to us in connection with this Competition, including the sharing of your personal data with the Judging Panel. The personal data that ZIE Ireland Branch processes and shares shall include name, address, phone number, e-mail and information contained in the entry form. Any personal data collected will be used solely for the purpose of administering the Competition and in accordance with the ZIE Ireland Branch privacy policy, available here Privacy Policy. You may request a copy of your personal data held by ZIE Ireland Branch by writing to the Data Protection Officer, Zurich Insurance, PO Box 78, Wexford. Your personal data shall be retained and used for these purposes of the competition and will be retained  for 4 months after the closing date of the Competition.
