Where can I get advice?

Selecting the right product for you may seem confusing, but you can get advice from a financial advisor near you. A financial advisor can take you through all of the products available on the market - not just those offered by Zurich Life - and help you select the one that suits you. Our handy financial advisor tool will help you find an advisor in your area. 

If you are an existing customer, your advisors’ details are located in the top right-hand corner of any correspondence you have received from Zurich.

Can I switch the funds in which my policy is invested?

You can move your unit holdings among the different investment unit funds available. This gives you extra flexibility to change the return-risk profile of your investment as your needs change.

The first four switches you make in each policy year are free of charge. A charge will be made for each subsequent switch. This charge is currently €20 and was last set on 1st January 2002; it is guaranteed not to increase by more than the increase in the Consumer Price Index since the charge was last set.

Retirement options. When and how do I claim my pension

  • Personal Pension – When you wish to draw down your Personal pension you should complete the claim form and submit it to customerservices@zurich.ie. We recommend that you speak to your financial advisor prior to doing so. Please note that the earliest you can draw down your personal pension is 60.
  • PRSA – When you wish to draw down your PRSA you should complete the relevant claim form and submit it to customerservices@zurich.ie. We recommend that you speak to your financial advisor prior to doing so. Please note that the earliest you can draw down your PRSA is 60.
  • PRSA AVC’s– When you wish to draw down your PRSAAVC you should complete the relevant claim form and the Trustees of the Main Scheme should complete the Main Scheme Information Form along with it and both forms should be submitted to customerservices@zurich.ie. We recommend that you speak to your financial advisor prior to doing so. Please note that the earliest you can draw down your PRSAAVC is 60.
  • Company Paid/Executive Pensions– When you wish to draw down your Company Paid pension you should complete the claim form and submit it to customerservices@zurich.ie. We recommend that you speak to your financial advisor prior to doing so. Please note that the earliest you can draw down your Company Paid pension is 60.
  • Personal Retirement Bonds– When you wish to draw down your Personal Retirement Bond you should complete the claim form and submit it to customerservices@zurich.ie. We recommend that you speak to your financial advisor prior to doing so. Please note that the earliest you can draw down your Personal Retirement Bond is 50.

Can I increase/decrease monthly contributions to my regular premium pension policy?

Yes, to do this we just need a clear signed instruction detailing the new premium amount you wish us to collect. This must be signed by the policy owner and we can accept it by fax, post or a scanned email instruction. It will apply from the next direct debit date. Please note our minimum premium for savings policies is €75 a month.

I would like to take a premium holiday. What do I need to do?

We recommend you speak to your financial advisor and get some advice before doing this as it may impact your pension amount at retirement. If you decide to go ahead we need a clear signed instruction. We normally put a policy into skip for a period of one year unless you contact us with alternate instructions.

I want to review my options on retirement. What do I do?

The simplest way of reviewing your options is to contact your Financial Advisor or alternatively our Customer Support Team on 01 799 2711. We recommend that you speak with your advisor as they are best qualified to review your current financial plan and offer advice on optimising your retirement planning.

I would like to change the bank account you collect my premiums from. How do I do this?

Please complete the Direct Debit Mandate if you wish to manage your payment options. Please note the dates which we can collect premiums payments are the 1st, 7th and the 15th of the month.

I want to change my address. What do I do?

For policies with one policy owner, you can email your instruction to our Customer Support Team at customerservices@zurich.ie or you can call them on 01 799 2711. Once your identity has been verified, we can change this immediately for you or alternatively you can send us a signed instruction noting your new address (please also provide us with your Eircode where known) by post to our offices at Zurich Life, Zurich House, Frascati Road, Blackrock, Co Dublin.

Please note that for jointly owned policies we require a signed instruction from both policy owners noting your new address - this can either be scanned and sent by email to our customerservices@zurich.ie mailbox or sent by post to our offices at Zurich Life, Zurich House, Frascati Road, Blackrock, Co Dublin.

Please note that if your new address resides outside of the Republic of Ireland and you hold a Savings/Investment Product, we will also require the Certification of Tax Status (Self certification Form) to be completed by the policy owner(s) and returned to ourselves using any of the above methods.

Furthermore, if your new address is in the USA we will require the United States Declaration to be completed and returned to ourselves using any of the above methods.

What are the Anti Money Laundering Requirements (AML)?

What happens in the event of an unclaimed life assurance policy?

Viewing policy details

How can I find out the current value of my policy?

 

We can provide you with secure online access to the details of your policy. Among the details you can view is a daily updated value of the policy. Apply now for access.

We will also provide you with a yearly report telling you how your investment is performing together with a report on the funds in which you have invested.

The prices of all our funds are updated regularly on our website and you can calculate the growth of these funds between two dates of your choice.

How can I see what benefits I have on my policy?

You have several options here - you can visit our secure client centre or register here for access. Using your secure pin and password this will give you access to review your policy/policies in details and their existing benefit levels (as applicable). An alternative is to contact your Financial Advisor or our Customer Support Team on 01 799 2711.

Payments and surrender queries

How do I surrender my policy?

Please send in a written instruction signed by all policy owners confirming that you wish to surrender the policy. Please indicate on your surrender instruction whether you would like the proceeds returned to the premium paying account. For Money Laundering Purposes you may need to provide identification documents should they not already be on file.

For convenience you may download our Payment Request Form and this contains a helpful checklist with requirements for submission.

Funds will be disinvested using the prices declared the day after receipt of a valid instruction. We recommend you speak to your financial advisor and obtain financial advice before submitting your claim.

How do I cancel my policy?

Please send in a written instruction signed by all policy owners confirming that you wish to cancel the policy. You can also send the written instruction in scanned via email to our customer support team at customerservices@zurich.ie.

We recommend you speak to your financial advisor and obtain financial advice before cancelling any protection policy.
