We understand how much inconvenience can be caused by your car being off the road following an accident. That’s why we provide a courtesy car to make sure you stay on the road and keep any disruption to a minimum.
Benefits
We provide policyholders with a courtesy car for up to seven days when your vehicle is being repaired by one of our approved repairers. You can avail of this benefit when your car is damaged as a result of an event (including a road traffic accident, fire or theft) which is covered under your policy and which occurred in the Republic of Ireland. This benefit is subject to the terms and conditions of your policy.
Electric car
If your car is a battery electric or plug-in hybrid electric model, we will extend the courtesy car period to 10 days with a like-for-like replacement electric car if one is available.
In the event of total loss
If your car is damaged beyond economical repair as a consequence of an accident which is covered under your policy, or if it is stolen and not yet recovered, we will arrange for the courtesy car to be provided for up to 10 days.
Replacement vehicle specification
Please note that the courtesy car provided to you will be a Class B category vehicle (1.2L petrol engine) except where your car is a battery electric or plug-in hybrid electric model. In such cases, we will arrange a like-for-like replacement electric car but if this is not possible we will arrange an equivalent replacement petrol or diesel car.
