Windscreen damage can happen easily so it’s good to know we have you covered and that a claim to repair or replace a windscreen does not affect your no claims discount.
What’s insured?
If your windscreen is damaged or needs to be replaced, or if there is any scratches to the bodywork of your car as a result of broken glass, there are two options available to you. We can pay to repair or replace the windscreen or windows, or pay you an amount equal to the loss of or damage to the windscreen or windows, less any excess that may apply.
How to claim
If you opt to have the windscreen or windows replaced or repaired with one of our approved windscreen replacement agents, you should contact our 24 hour emergency helpline to have the damage repaired or replaced. You should notify us before you proceed with any repair or replacement work.
Other party repairs
If you decide to have the damage replaced or repaired by another party we will pay a maximum of €150 for a windscreen replacement, or €50 for a windscreen repair, in respect of any one claim. For any scratching of the bodywork resulting directly from glass breakage, the maximum we will pay in any one complete period of insurance is €350.
What’s not insured?
Windows are deemed to include the front back and side windows but exclude sunroofs, panoramic roofs, mirrors and lights. We won’t cover the cost of damage caused by wear-and-tear or if the damage is caused by you deliberately.
