Clean Coasts, who work with communities to help protect Ireland’s waterways, coastline, seas, ocean and marine life, organised two ‘Big Beach Clean Events’ for Zurich employees to get involved in.

The first beach clean took place in Rosslare, Co Wexford on 11th October and the Booterstown/Sandymount, Co Dublin coastal clean will take place on 18th October. The two beach cleans are the first initiatives spearheaded by the Zurich Sustainability Champions, with further activities and events planned in the future.

Clean Coasts organise 100s of beach clean-ups each year, mobilising thousands of volunteers, removing large quantities of marine litter from our coastline.

By promoting and facilitating coastal clean-ups, Clean Coasts are making a practical and positive impact on Ireland’s coastal environment.

Thanking Zurich volunteers for their efforts and involvement, Clean Coasts said that volunteers had made a tangible difference to the health of our ocean.

To learn about the issues faced by our local marine environment and also to learn about steps you can take throughout the year, both in work and at home, to engage with our oceans in a sustainable way visit the Clean Coasts website.
