Zurich scoops two awards at the DMAs

Zurich won ‘Best in Financial Services’ and ‘Best Search’ at the 2022 Digital Media Awards.

On Friday 11th November, Zurich Ireland picked up two awards – one for ‘Best in Financial Services’ and one for ‘Best Search’ at the 2022 Digital Media Awards in Dublin.

Now in their 19th year, the Digital Media Awards are the primary digital awards in Ireland and are a reflection of the best in the industry. The awards recognise creativity and innovation across the digital sector including areas such as digital content creation, app development, digital marketing and web design.

The Best Search category recognises businesses that carry out comprehensive search campaigns online. In winning this award, Zurich has been acknowledged for its innovative approach to search engine optimisation including a comprehensive content strategy and technical project work such as ‘schema mapping’ and ‘vector analytics’ for www.zurich.ie.  The award also recognises Zurich’s ability to attribute offline sales to online search campaigns through the use of Google Click IDs on sales funnels for car and home insurance in the direct channel. 

In a very competitive award category, Zurich overcame competition from large brands such as Aer Lingus, Irish League of Credit Unions and Dalata Hotel Group, to win the Best Search Award.

Tara Cooke, Direct Channel Marketing Manager for Zurich General Insurance said: “We are delighted with this recognition from our peers of the excellence and quality of our search activities and the impact it has had on growth in home and car insurance in our direct to consumer channel. At Zurich, we have focused our efforts on our SEO and paid search strategy and have been successful in generating online as well as offline sales through Google click ID campaigns. This award is further acknowledgement of the work we are doing in this area.”

Zurich also won gold in the much coveted Best in Financial Services category. This category recognises a financial service that is forward looking from a digital perspective, targeting relevant messaging to their customers effectively while also taking into consideration digital innovation and strategy. This award category is always highly competitive with major Irish brands such as Allied Irish Banks plc, Irish Life, Permanent TSB, KBC and An Post all vying for the prize this year.
