Executive Women’s Gathering 2024: Supporting balanced progression
On 22nd April, representatives from Zurich in Ireland joined over 1,000 attendees at Ireland’s largest summit for women business leaders at the Executive Women’s Gathering 2024, which took place for a third year in the National Convention Centre, Dublin.
Over the course of the day at the Executive Women’s Gathering, participants had the opportunity to connect with women executives and entrepreneurs while hearing from inspirational speakers including Member of the European Parliament, Maria Walsh; Emmy award winning Irish actor Fionnuala Flanagan; and current Dragons’ Den investor and host of 'The Diary Of A CEO' podcast, Steven Bartlett.
Supporting gender balance
Participating in this event is just one of the ways in which Zurich aims to encourage and support balanced progression across our business, including:
- Supporting diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) by creating a workplace that can drive meaningful change and have a positive impact on all employees.
- Our ‘This is us. This is me.’ initiative is an employee led group that is about building an inclusive culture together through open conversations and discussions that gives all employees the opportunity to learn from each other.
-
The Zurich Achieve Programme, focusing on early in career talent.
-
Leadership Curriculum – from those who aspire to be managers to enhancing skills throughout the leadership journey
-
Developing the ‘My Brighter Future’ mentoring scheme which is supporting development and progression across the business.
-
Tailored training courses such as advancing women in leadership and unconscious bias.
-
Promoting an exceptional family leave policy.
-
In Q2 we will also see enhancements to our supporting tools and webinars for parents with access to a dedicated online portal.
Partnership
In addition, Zurich works in partnership with organisations to drive change within our business, including EDGE and Women in Finance.
EDGE stands for Economic Dividends for Gender Equality and is the leading global assessment in the area of gender equity. EDGE is a key tool to support our commitment to gender balance not just in the area of gender pay. Zurich achieved the second level of EDGE certification (EDGE Move) recognising the progress that we have made in this area.
The Women in Finance Charter is a collaboration between industry and Government under the Ireland for Finance strategy. Ireland for Finance, is the Government’s blueprint for the development of the international financial services sector. Diversity is a key theme of the strategy with the ambition to see increased participation of women at all levels, including junior, middle and senior management, leadership and board roles within financial services organisations based in Ireland.
At Zurich we are committed to creating a fair, diverse and inclusive environment representing our diverse society. You can find out more about our commitment to diversity and inclusion here.
