Climate change is leading to an increased frequency and magnitude of losses. However, data on these climate-related events is currently not available to regulators and other public authorities on a comprehensive scale.
Insurance companies can use their claims data to make a significant contribution to improving adaptation to climate change. We at Zurich would like to support this.
We are therefore prepared to make our claims data (claims frequency and claims expenditure) available to interested third parties (regulatory authorities, etc.) free of charge in aggregated and anonymised form, provided that it is not business sensitive, and it is not violating existing regulation or law.
