Zurich prides itself on its commitment to making a difference in the local communities in which we operate, and supports a number of important causes across the country. With over 1,000 employees across our Life and General Insurance businesses in Ireland, Zurich has proudly supported charities such as Aware, Pieta House and the Windmill Therapeutic Unit in Wexford over the past number of years through a series of fundraising and volunteering initiatives.
Rethink Ireland: Innovate Together Fund
The Z Zurich Foundation is actively investing in local communities on a global level to help and support community projects, and in collaboration with Zurich Ireland, is supporting local initiatives.Rethink Ireland is one organisation benefiting from Zurich’s support. The Innovate Together and Headstart funds aim to support social innovation projects that address current and long-term social, economic, environmental and mental health challenges. Find out more.
Tackle Your Feelings
Tackle Your Feelings is a national wellbeing campaign developed by Rugby Players Ireland (formerly IRUPA) in partnership with Zurich. It encourages people to take preventative measures to look after and maintain their mental and emotional wellbeing. As part of the campaign, Irish rugby stars past and present share their experiences of dealing with mental wellbeing issues, and how they proactively manage these challenges.

Employee Wellbeing
As a large employer in Ireland we recognise the importance of looking after the wellbeing of our employees. We want our employees to flourish both inside of and outside of work. To achieve this aim, Zurich have put supports in place that raise our employees' awareness of the importance of wellbeing, educates them about what they can do to improve their wellbeing and provides them with the tools to reach their personal wellbeing goals.
Women's Innovation Network (WIN)
Zurich's Women's Innovation Network (WIN), an Employee Resource Group, has been established with the aim of rewarding merit and accomplishment above all else. WIN focuses on areas such as career development and creating business value, with a central goal of empowerment. We encourage our Zurich colleagues, male and female at all levels, to become involved so as to collectively benefit from and support this powerful initiative.
Zurich Charity Committee
Zurich Life's chosen charity is Down Syndrome Ireland, which is a membership organisation. Supporting 3,500 people with Down syndrome and their families throughout Ireland, its vision is to ensure all people are valued, fully participating citizens. Zurich’s charity partnership with Down Syndrome Ireland will see its members benefit from Zurich’s support through fundraising and awareness, as well as charity events held by employees.
Zurich Community Week
Zurich Community Week takes place every year for a week in May. It is a great opportunity to highlight and celebrate the Zurich commitment shown by employees throughout the year who give up their time and skills to help the communities in which we live and work. Each year Zurich employees raise valuable funds and give their time to volunteer for charities and community organisations across Ireland.
Time to Read
Time to read is a Business in the Community Ireland programme. As part of the programme, Zurich employees provide one-to-one reading support to local primary school children. The aim of this programme is to help children develop a love for reading and it gives Zurich volunteers the opportunity to support the work of families and schools in encouraging a love of books and reading among school children.
